WTC Membership,
I want to thank you for trusting me with the Presidency of the Wilmington Trail Club. I have large shoes to fill and will endeavor to fulfill your trust.I have been a WTC member since 2012 and primarily paddle, both Touring and Whitewater. I was the Paddling Chair for 3 years when I was also a member of the WTC Council. I retired from the US Navy as an A-7 carrier pilot and as a Captain with American Airlines.
I do not have any plans to re-make the club, except to work very hard to dig us out of the COVID-19 Pandemic hole. Digging out of this hole also requires help from you, the membership. Please remain as active as you feel safe. Pass on the benefits of the club so we can recover quickly and grow when the Pandemic is over. Unfortunately, that will probably not be near-term. Please continue to be patient as we try to safely manage the club activities.
As we move forward, we need a Publicity Chair. As Gary said, this position is not immediately important, but will be critical to our growth when the Pandemic subsides. If you have any interest in interfacing with the public to advertise the club, please contact me or any Council member.
Everyone is a valuable club member, so please be safe during club activities and your day-to-day life.
