In Middle Run the bridge and trail south of Possum Hollow Road on the Lenape Trail is closed. The bridge was closed for repairs or replacement. The supports for the bridge have damage not readily seen. The Lenape Trail is the one that crosses by the entrance to Tri State Bird Sanctuary. It is not good to try and bypass the closed bridge. It is extremely dangerous, very steep, and not environmentally prudent, as it will cause erosion. New Castle County is trying to reopen a bridge there as soon as possible. You can use the Lenape and the Double Horseshoe Trails south of the bridge. We will let you as soon as possible when bridge and trail status changes.
