Recreational: the Tuckahoe Creek is a 21.5 mile long tributary of the Choptank River on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. It’s a winding and shaded waterway, so a shorter boat is advisable. This trip is fine for novice paddlers. We usually meet at the boat launch and paddle upstream for as far as we can navigate and then return to the put-in to have our lunch and then paddle south on tidal water for as long as we would like depending on the heat. The rest does not have any tree cover. Anticipate that our trip may last 4-4 1/2 hours. There is no shuttle, but parking at this location could be tight if a large number of paddlers arrive at the same time. Please be conscientious of others as you park.
Difficulty & Must Haves:
Bring a lunch and loads of water. Bug spray is also advisable.
