Calling all character and costume enthusiasts that love volunteering with children! Brandywine Creek State Park is looking for 20-30 volunteers to dress in costume and play beloved children’s media characters for our Enchanted Meadows Trick or Treat Trail. This is a great opportunity for high school and college students looking for a fun way to get volunteer hours!
The Enchanted Meadows event will take place over two weekends, Friday and Saturday evenings. October 21-22 and October 28-29 from 6-8pm. Volunteers need to be here about 1-1.5 hrs ahead of the trail opening to get into costume and get into places (we will also provide food!). We are especially in need of volunteers to dress up on Friday the 21
We have 11 scenes along the trail where each single, pair, or small group of characters will be stationed to greet visitors and hand out candy in front of a large painted backdrop. The scenes are: Winne-the-Pooh (Pooh & Tigger), Moana (Moana & Maui) , Hogwarts , Frozen (Elsa & Anna), Finding Nemo, Tangled (Rapunzel & Flynn), Hotel Transylvania (Dracula & Mavis), Beauty & The Beast, The Incredibles (Mr. & Mrs), The Minions (2 Stuarts), and Encanto.
The park has costumes available for each scene but volunteers are welcome to bring and wear their own if they fit a scene!
We also need 3-6 people each night to help with check in and candy refills. Any students must be supervised by an adult.
If you are interested in joining us for this event, please let our Manager of Volunteers Julie () know what character you would like to be, if you have a costume or need one, and what nights you can attend. This volunteer opportunity is now up on our DE State parks volunteer calendar, so you can register there as well! https://destateparks.com/Volunteer/Calendars
