September President’s Message
Annual Picnic
The “WTC Grand Opening” Annual Picnic will be held on Sunday, October 10th at Lums Pond State Park. The day begins with hiking, biking, and paddling at the park. There will be a short Annual Meeting at 12pm, followed by the picnic. Please visit WTC Annual Picnic for details and to sign up. This is our first club wide event in 2 years.Covid does need to be addressed. See the recent CDC Outdoor Guidelines below. Please bring a mask with you and consider wearing it if you are sitting in a crowd (i.e., under the pavilion). We will call small groups to the meal to reduce crowding together in line. Consider bringing a lawn chair to provide yourself some space. We want everyone to have fun but return home safe.
Hike Across Delaware (HAD)
The Hike Across Delaware will be held on Saturday, November 6th. Registration is now open, so please visit WTC HAD to view the details and book your spot on the hike.Bill Johnston
PresidentAugust 15 CDC Outdoor Guidelines
In general, you do not need to wear a mask in outdoor settings.
In areas with high numbers of COVID-19 cases, consider wearing a mask in crowded outdoor settings and for activities with close contact with others who are not fully vaccinated. (Note: New Castle County is a high number area)
People who have a condition or are taking medications that weaken their immune system may not be fully protected even if they are fully vaccinated. They should continue to take all precautions recommended for unvaccinated people, including wearing a well-fitted mask, until advised otherwise by their healthcare provider.
