      April President’s Message

The weather is turning beautiful and we want to get our members outside. The pandemic is improving overall though the infection numbers are up now that folks are getting around more. This is tempered by the increase in vaccinations. It is not time to abandon all our precautions, but it is time to loosen some rules. Please continue to be COVID safe in your daily life and on WTC events.

      Shuttles and Carpools:

The CDC considers individuals fully-vaccinated when they are 2 weeks past their final inoculation, 2 shots for Moderna and Pfizer and 1 shot for J&J. Only fully-vaccinated club members may shuttle and carpool. Wear your masks and open some windows for ventilation as extra precautions.

      Increase event participation:

Events may now schedule 15 participants. The mask, Social Distancing, and RSVP rules still apply. Leaders, please consider trailhead parking when you schedule more than 10 participants for your event.

Wednesday Milers and Saturday Long Hikes:

These 2 events may now schedule any length they desire and have a lunch break. To protect our members during lunch, these 2 events are still limited to 10 participants. Lunch breaks require social distancing since masks cannot be worn while eating.

      Have fun and be safe,

      Bill Johnston,
