The Canalside Guest House is located in Lehighton, just 4 miles downstream of Jim Thorpe, PA. Outside our front door, you can get onto the original tow path that the mules walked from in 1826 to 1943. This path is used for walking, bicycling, and cross-country skiing. The canal is well stocked and is a popular fishing spot for our locals.
Of course, the beautiful Lehigh River is just on the other side of the tow path where people enjoy boating, tubing, and fishing. More recreation opportunities can be found in nearby state and county parks, state game lands, and along the National Heritage Corridor.
The following additional routes pass by our home: The Lehigh Sojourn, The Pennsylvania Greenway Sojourn, and PA Bike Route L.
