We’ll start with a trip up the east side of the lake, and then head upstream a way on the Maurice River, then return to the lake and make our way along the west side, past several islands and down to the dam area, then back across to the launch area. We’ll have our dinner along the way or else back at the launch area. By the time we get back, the moon will be rising, and we’ll head out to the middle of the lake to enjoy the spectacle for a while before finishing the trip around 9:30 PM.
Moonrise is 7:13 PM. Sunset is 8:33 PM. Bring something portable for dinner, a white light (e.g. flashlight) for your boat, and a light jacket.
There is no shuttle.

This is an 898-acre impoundment of the Maurice River that is almost three miles long and a mile wide at the widest point. There is a limit of ten horsepower on motorboats. The Maurice river, which feeds the lake, can also paddled at the north end of the lake. Adjacent to the eastern launch site is a free public sand beach and swimming area. The beach is very lightly used. There are also beaches on the western side of the lake which are good for lunch and swimming.
