DESCRIPTION: (Wear appropriate clothing & bring water! Below are some special instructions: what to bring, relative difficulties, interesting features, & carpooling directions.)
Due to COVID-19 this trip has been postponed indefinitely.
Due to COVID-19 protocol, the trip may be reconfigured: Carpooling may be discouraged. (Unless you live in the same household) All hikes will probably be loop hikes. We may not do the canoeing because this involves a shuttle in a small van (bus). Meals at the lodge will probably have us sitting in socially distanced groups. (Room mates will probably be sitting together).
May 17-20 (Sun-Wed) We’re planning three days of outdoor activities including an 8-10 mile hike on the West Rim Trail on Monday (with shorter options), canoe (or kayak or raft) on Pine Creek on Tuesday, and either do a short hike or cycle on the rail trail on Wednesday morning. Boat and bike rentals are available from Pine Creek Outfitters and we will make the arrangements. Alternatively, you can bring your own boat or bike and use Pine Creek’s shuttle service. Comfortable accommodations with breakfast and dinner included are provided by the Susquehannock Lodge (Rates Semi Private $65 pppn, Private (en-suite) $70 pppn or $85 single occupancy, all plus tax. Packed lunches are available at additional charge. There are 5 private rooms and 5 semi private rooms in the Lodge. Additional private rooms are available in an adjacent building if required. Contact Jim to reserve ($50 ppn deposit required by April 17)
