We hope to enjoy the spectacular bluebell and trillium display along the Susquehanna River. This will be a nature identification hike taking note of the birds and wildflowers.
Driving Directions: For carpooling, arrive ready to leave at 8:50 a.m. at the park and ride near the UD stadium or meet at 10:00 a.m. in the Deer Creek picnic area in Susquehanna State Park. From Newark, take I-95 south over the Susquehanna River. Look for Exit 89, Rt. 155 West. Follow 155 West to Rt. 161, where you turn right, following the State Park sign. Turn right onto Rock Run Road, again following the State Park sign. Follow signs for the historic area, and at the T by the river, go left toward the picnic area. Drive along the river some distance. The main entrance is on the left. All drivers must stop at the entrance and get a ticket for their cars, even if you have a Maryland State Park Pass. Parking fee for Maryland residents w/o park pass is $2; out of state fee for hikers w/o a pass is $4.
