EVENT

WHEN:
DATE: 04/27/2019
TIME: 10:00am - 3:00pm (prompt start, estimated end)

DESCRIPTION: (Wear appropriate clothing & bring water!  Below are some special instructions: what to bring, relative difficulties, interesting features, and carpooling directions.)

Enjoy a leisurely 5 to 6 mile paddle to see nesting great blue herons. This is a very scenic paddle – expect to see bald eagles, blue herons, and osprey.

The amount of paddling time is up to the individual. We will first paddle down river to see the heron rookery, return to the put-in for lunch, then paddle upriver to the headwaters of the Sassafras.  Any recreational boat 10′ or longer would be fine.

Bring water, sunscreen and lunch.
