Port Deposit Hike

The hike through this historic town along the Susquehanna River includes one or part of a long optional hill. Bathrooms are available at the hike meet-up. DRIVING DIRECTIONS: For carpooling, meet at Suburban Shopping Center off Elkton Road at 9:10 a.m. Alternate directions to those listed below: Proceed south on I-95 to Port Deposit/Perryville Exit (first exit after Chesapeake Travel Plaza, right on exit for Rt. 222. Follow 222 N as it turns left & down the hill into the town. At Rts. 222 & 276 intersection, turn left after the post office, cross RR tracks & park behind Lee’s Landing Restaurant, 600 Rowland Dr., Port Deposit, MD 21904 (tel. #443/747-4006) where we will plan to gather for lunch after the walk.

From US-40 at the DE/MD state line. Proceed west on US-40 for 13.1 mi. Turn right onto Jackson Station Rd & proceed 1.7 mi. Turn right onto MD-824 N & proceed 0.5 mi. Continue onto MD-222 N & proceed 3.0 mi. Turn left onto Rowland Dr & proceed 256 ft. Turn left to stay on Rowland Dr & proceed 164 ft.
