DESCRIPTION: (Wear appropriate clothing & bring water! Below are some special instructions: what to bring, relative difficulties, interesting features, and carpooling directions.)
For the first arrivals to our weekend of paddling in Southern Maryland, we will paddle in the area around Shad Landing, which is our campsite. The moon is 99% full.
Saturday – There are a number of choices for put-ins and take outs, depending on the number and experience and energy level of the paddlers. A beautiful black water river that has bald cypresses on the shores. We are camping at the Pocomoke River State Park- Shad Landing site.
Sunday – Jane’s Island State Park – This paddle will close our weekend camping trip. High tide at Crisfield on this day is 3:41pm, so this should give us a long time in which to paddle the various water trails that cut through the island or circumnavigate it (over 14 miles) if the weather is favorable.
