This unusual triangle of land is surrounded by the Delaware River to the east, the Chesapeake & Delaware Canal to the south, and the old Chesapeake & Delaware Canal to the northwest. One of the old sand dike trails has been rebuilt, so we’ll be sure to hike that one too. Join us for lunch by the Delaware River! There are many historical remnants here. (FYI: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/fort_dupont). Bring water and lunch. We are not parking in the main State Park lot; but rather in the larger, free Boat Launch lot a little further east.

This area was recently purchased by the “Fort DuPont Redevelopment & Preservation Corporation”. There are many historical remnants here.
