This hike starts up the long hill to the reservoir top and through the woods of the adjacent William M. Redd Jr. Park. Trekking poles are advised for the long hill and the rooted trails in the park woods. The trail to and along the perimeter of the reservoir is asphalt paved. The rest of the hike is on forest trails.
