This scenic ride goes through St. George’s towards Delaware City and picks up the Mike Castle Trail for 12 miles to Chesapeake city and back to Lum’s Pond. We’ll be using Lums Pond II cue sheet which includes the driving directions. DE State Park Pass is required to do this ride which can be purchased at the entrance. From the intersection of DE-896 and US-40. Proceed south on DE-896 for 2.6 mi. Turn left onto Howell School Rd and travel 0.4 mi. Turn right into the park. ]The lot areas are numbered in reverse, because the entrance was moved from one end to the other. Follow the winding park road, all of the way until there is no more pavement near the old bathing beach.
