Loyalsock Trail Backpacker, North Central, PA

This 3-day, 2-night trip on the Loyalsock Link Trail (plus a side trip to Haystack and Dutchman’s Fall) will take you to some of the most stunning vistas in Worlds End State Park. The views at High Rock and Canyon Vista are awe-inspiring. The uniquely beautiful and fun Haystacks on the Loyalsock Creek pleases kids young and old.
As can be expected, vistas often come after steep climbs. Although the climbs are not long, they are quite steep and rocky; difficult with a backpack on your back. Please pack lightly and wear sturdy and comfortable shoes. Hiking poles are very useful as well as bug spray since some sections may be swampy. Please make sure to bring backpacking essentials. The daily mileages are about 8, 10 and 8. Please meet at Worlds End State Park Visitor Center (GPS: 41.47187, -76.58143) on June 9 (Friday) at 10:00 am. We’ll register our cars and start hiking soon afterward.
Please TEXT leaders (Jin Xu, 267/217-2151 or Gary Reeser, 443/350-0659) to ask questions and sign up. Participants will need to let leaders know of their recent backpack experiences as every participant contributes to the safety of the whole group.
We’ll have at least one carpool from Holiday Inn in Lansdale, PA near the entrance to I-476 at 7:00am on Friday. Other carpool options can be arranged by the participants.

Take I-95N to I 476N to I80 W to Buckhorn. At Buckhorn take Pa 42 north towards Eagles Mere. At Eagles Mere take PA 3009 towards Worlds End State Park.
