DESCRIPTION: (Wear appropriate clothing & bring water!  Below are some special instructions: what to bring, relative difficulties, interesting features, and carpooling directions.)

Enjoy this nearby wildlife refuge with over 10 miles of trails and hundreds of species of flora and fauna. If you’ve never been to this site, its definitely worth the visit to this uniquely located hiking venue. Established in 1972, this “…refuge supports a diversity of habitats, including freshwater tidal marsh, open waters, mudflats, and woodlands…”. Trails are level and mostly gravel. The Visitor Center has much info about what to see, has maps, and even binoculars to lend to hikers. And all this adjacent to the Philadelphia Airport and I-95! Check out their website for more information.

Note: This hike will start at 11:00 AM to avoid I-95 rush hour traffic. Also, for those wanting to carpool or who have room for others, meet up at 9:45AM in the Acme parking lot at the corner of Foulk and Naamans Roads. We’ll meet at the parking lot side closest to Naamans and will depart for the hiking site at 10:00AM.
