Wilmington Trail Club’s Twenty-Fourth Annual
Hike Across Delaware
HIKE THE ENTIRE WIDTH OF DELAWARE
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 2018
Check in at the Gazebo in Delaware City’s Battery Park between 8:15 and 8:45 a.m. at which time buses will take participants to the start in North Chesapeake City. Delaware City public parking is available one block from Battery Park at 82 Washington Street.
We will hike along the north side of the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal. The route is mostly flat and lies mainly on land designated as the Canal Wildlife Zone. At the town of St. Georges, 10 miles along the trail, light refreshments and rest rooms will be available. At this juncture, provisions will be made to transport people back to their cars, if necessary.
The early November weather is usually ideal and the trees and shrubbery sporting their fall foliage, combined with the opportunity for a close view of boats, ships and barges using the waterway, make for a pleasant journey along the trail.
The cost of $20 for WTC members and $25 for non-members includes permits, insurance, security, bus transportation, light refreshments, toilets and bandanas. Subject to space availability, on-site registrations may be possible for a fee of $30. Bandanas are not guaranteed.
NON-REFUNDABLE REGISTRATIONS ARE DUE
NO LATER THAN OCTOBER 24. SEE PAGE 15.
