22nd Hike Across Delaware
Hike the Entire Width of Delaware
“Just think – you’ll be able to tell people you walked across an entire state!”
Check in at the Gazebo in Delaware City’s Battery Park between 8:15 and 8:45 a.m. at which time busses will take participants to the start in North Chesapeake City. We will then hike along the north side of the C&D Canal to the Delaware River. The route is mostly flat, and lies mainly on land designated as the Canal Wildlife Zone. At the town of St. Georges, approximately 8 miles along the trail, food, drink and toilets will be available, and provisions can be made to transport people back to their cars.
The early November weather is usually ideal, and the trees and shrubbery sporting their fall foliage, combined with the opportunity for a close view of boats, ships and barges using the waterway, make for a pleasant journey along the trail.
The ticket cost includes: shuttle bus transportation, food, drink, toilets and a HAD T-Shirt. Contact the Leader with questions.
