Join us for a fun pre-Thanksgiving experience when Joe and I show thanks to our fellow hikers by sharing our own lunch. “Feast” consists of bread, cheese, fruit, and nuts. (optional to bring item to share). Beautiful views of Big Elk Creek, rolling terrain, a few steep hills, possible mud in mostly shady woods. Bring water, bug spray and lunch.

From the DE/MD state line, take MD-273 west for 1.4 mi. At the traffic circle, take the 1st exit onto Appleton Rd north for 1.2 mi. Turn left onto Black Bridge Rd & continue across the Appleton North parking lot & proceed 1.0 mi. Turn right into the parking lot in sight of the covered bridge.
There are no street addresses on Blackbridge Rd. You will drive across the Fair Hill Natural Resources Area – P3 (Appleton North) lot. This lot is at the southern end of Black Bridge Rd, just before it meets Tawes Dr & view of the Fox Catcher Covered Bridge. These GPS exact coordinates are: 39.710155, -75.837844.
