This is a COVID-19 compliant paddle. We will be maintaining social distancing when possible and wearing face masks as necessary. Please bring a face mask, hand sanitizer, and your own pen to sign the liability/release form. Please bring a lunch to eat in your boat. The paddle is limited to 10 people and you must RSVP a leader (Kalindi Dogra or Christina Older, christina_older@hotmail.com) via email to attend. RSVPs will only be accepted 6 days prior to the day of the paddle (i.e. starting Sunday July 5). After 10 are signed up you will be placed on a waiting list.
Eastern Neck is an island in Maryland that lies at the confluence of the Chester River and the Chesapeake Bay. There are two possible paddles here. The open water paddle is 9 miles around the island and there will be an opportunity to stop on a beach on the bay to have lunch. A boat that is able to handle open water (14 feet or longer) and a spray skirt is strongly advised. This is considered an intermediate level paddle; good paddling and rescue skills are recommended. You must be able to stay with the group.
If winds are an issue, or if paddlers are better suited for the “gentler” waters of the Chester River side, then there are plenty of inlets and beaches for us to explore as well.
We will meet at Bogle’s wharf, which is the boat launch on the island.
There is no shuttle.

If a combination of wind, current, and tides are an issue, there are inlets and beaches to explore on the more protected waters of the Chester River side.
