We will paddle with the outgoing tide on the Christina River from the Newport launch ramp North to the Brandywine River entrance, and then up to the Market Street Bridge in Wilmington.
This is a long paddle – 10 miles round-trip to the mouth of the Brandywine PLUS distance to Market Street or as far as we can paddle up the Brandywine [potentially 14 miles]. There is no shuttle.
Bring the usual gear, sunscreen, lunch and lots of water.
Please email the leader if you need a rental kayak and gear, and your cell phone number to attend.
If you use a GPS system enter the nearest address (301 Harvey Dr, Newport) not the exact coordinates. Those coordinates have been a problem for some GPS systems. At that address, turn off Harvey Drive onto Thoms Way at the sign for the Newport Boat Ramp – DNREC. Proceed to the parking lot at the end of Thoms way.
