DESCRIPTION: (Wear appropriate clothing & bring water! Below are some special instructions: what to bring, relative difficulties, interesting features, & carpooling directions.)
Welcome to the 2021 paddling season. As it is early season, this is an advanced paddle. Cold weather gear is required. We will paddle with the tide up the Christina River to the White Clay Creek, and return with the outgoing tide to Newport.
This is a CORVID-19 compliant paddle. We will be maintaining social distancing when possible and wearing face masks as necessary. Please bring a face mask, hand sanitizer, and your own pen to sign the liability/release form. Please bring a lunch or snack to eat in your boat. The paddle is limited to 10 people and you must RSVP the leader via email to attend. After 10 are signed up you will be placed on a waiting list.
If you use a GPS system enter the Nearest Address (301 Harvey Dr, Newport) not the Exact Coordinates. Those coordinates have been a problem for some GPS systems. At that address, turn off Harvey Drive onto Thoms Way at the sign for the Newport Boat Ramp – DNREC. There is no shuttle.
