Expect hiking half on dirt roads and half on wooded trails. The woods sections will be unfamiliar to most WTC members. Fairly easy hiking: mostly level with no significant stream crossings. Bring water and lunch to eat at a scenic spot.

From the intersection of US-40 & US-301/DE-896/Summit Bridge Rd, in Glasgow, DE. Proceed south on US-301 for 3.4 mi. Turn left onto DE-71 (Red Lion Rd) north and continue 0.8 mi. Turn right onto RD-404/Old Summit Rd and proceed 0.4 mi. Some large power lines cross high above the canal here. Continue downhill toward the left, away from the Summit Bridge for 0.3 mi. The road will dead end in a Mike Castle Trail parking lot.
