We will hike through hidden canal lands. Expect hiking half on dirt roads and half on wooded trails. The woods sections will be unfamiliar to most WTC members. Fairly easy hiking: mostly level with no significant stream crossings. Bring water and lunch to eat at a scenic spot.

WRITTEN DIRECTIONS:
From the intersection of US-40 & DE-896 (Summit Bridge Rd), in Glasgow, DE. Proceed south on DE-896 for 3.4 mi. Turn left onto DE-71 (Red Lion Rd) north and continue 0.8 mi. Turn right onto RD-404/Old Summit Rd and proceed 0.4 mi. This is a triangular loop road. At its apex, there's a very large brown sign and some large power lines that cross high above the canal. There is no indication for the parking lot. Several unimproved roads come together. Continue downhill slightly left and away from the Summit Bridge, for 0.3 mi. This road will dead end in a Mike Castle Trail parking lot.
LOCATION NOTES:
Area also known as “North Summit”. There is no actual street address for this location. This is one of the Delaware parking lots designated as trailheads for the Mike Castle Trail. The restrooms usually are closed in the winter.
