Depart at 10:00 a.m. from Farm lane parking lot for a 4-mile hike. This bi-state preserve contains both Delaware and Pennsylvania lands and includes the Auburn Heights Steam Car Museum and the former NVF compound. These trail segments meander through nature woodlands, rural lands and wetlands. Bring water and snacks.Over-flow parking along Farm Lane is allowed but passes available from the leader must be displayed. Car pooling is encouraged. Delaware Park passes are required for all parking.

From the intersection of DE-41 and Yorklyn Rd, Hockessin. Proceed northeast on Yorklyn Rd for 1.8 mi. Turn left onto DE-82 (Creek Rd). Then quick left onto Benge Rd. Turn right on Farm Ln & into the parking lot.
Nestled in the Piedmont’s Red Clay Valley, visitors to Auburn Valley State Park will discover the history of the Marshall Family, Yorklyn’s rich industrial history, and revitalization of this site. Previously known as Auburn Heights Preserve, Auburn Valley State Park features new hiking and paved biking trails, the historic Marshall Mansion completed in 1897, the Marshall Steam Museum, the Auburn Valley 1/8-scale railroad, and much more. Special thanks go to Tom and Ruth Marshall for their generous donation of this Auburn Valley estate to Delaware State Parks.
