Arrive ready to leave at 10:00 a.m. from the car park of the Ashland Nature Center (3511 Barley Mill Rd, Hockessin, DE 19707) for a 3.5 mile hike. We will probably be lead around the property by Joe Sebastiani from the center, who will point out some things of interest as we go around. Trails are well maintained, and there are some hills. There will be a $5 entrance fee for those who are not members of the Delaware Nature Society.

Ashland Nature Center serves as Delaware Nature Society’s headquarters with 130 acres of woodlands, meadows, marsh, the scenic Red Clay Creek, and 4-miles of nature trails to explore. Centered in the heart of the Red Clay Valley Important Bird Area and Red Clay Valley Scenic Byway, the site is open to the public year-round, features educational programs, a picnic area, Visitor Center and Overnight Lodge. Discover wildlife at our Hawk Watch, Butterfly House, Bird Banding station, Bird Blind, and our Hummingbird Haven (a Garden for Wildlife showcase), and along our many pet-friendly interpretive trails. We also offer programming for schools and public groups.
