EVENT

WHEN:
DATE: 04/23/2022
TIME: 6:00pm - 10:00pm (prompt start, estimated end)

DESCRIPTION: (Wear appropriate clothing & bring water! Below are some special instructions: what to bring, relative difficulties, interesting features, & carpooling directions.)

After two years of delay and postponement, we are now in a position to safely gather and celebrate the achievements of the WTC and its members!  Come socialize with our fellow club members, learn what’s new, and if you have led 5 WTC events or more – come and claim your award!  It is a great way to re-connect with fellow club members, friends and outdoor enthusiasts from all four club disciplines: Hiking, Paddling, Skiing and Cycling.  You are welcome to bring a nonmember guest.

There will be a cash bar from 6:00 to 7:00.  The 7:00 dinner menu includes salad, a main entrée, vegetables, desert and coffee/tea.  A vegetarian option is available, and if there are special dietary restrictions they can be discussed with the restaurant – please contact Aram if this applies!

After dinner, there will be a short annual business meeting, followed by our main speaker.  She is Katelyn Harnett, Manager of Volunteers at White Clay Creek State Park and her presentation is titled “5 years of Volunteer Forest Restoration and What is Yet to Come”:  The volunteer invasive removal team at White Clay Creek State Park is intent on changing the local ecosystem for the better. By spending countless hours removing invasive vegetation, they have facilitated the growth of native species and made the ecosystem more hospitable for foraging wildlife. This effort, started by a few determined individuals, has grown into a community intent on restoring their local forest.  Please join us in learning more about how this effort came to be, where they are now, and what is still to come!

The cost for the banquet is $25.  It will be at the Ed Oliver Golf Club. Seating is limited to 120 attendees, so please sign up as soon as possible.  Bookings will be allowed until we reach capacity or April 14th 2022, whichever comes first
