WTC WTC Volunteer Opportunities (Recurring) -- for 0.25 - 1.0 miles on 02/15/2024 @ 9:00am-11:00am -- This project’s objective is to increase plant diversity and help preserve the native plants by removing non-native invasive plants. Wear long sleeves and pants, work gloves. We will supply needed tools. All help is welcome and there is work for all levels. The work will range from easy hand-pulling of small plants to removal of large shrubs and trees, to cutting and piling plant debris. This is a great way to learn more about invasive plants and the ecology of the park. The walk to the worksite varies between 0.25 to 1.0 mile. Any questions, please contact Terri Tipping. Backup contacts are: Jim March and Mike Czupryna.

The trail is level, so no need for trekking poles unless weather dictates otherwise. We’ll be hiking parallel to and have a bridge crossing over Chester Creek. This hike is suitable for all skill levels and there is an early out at 4 miles, but can be extended to 6 miles. Note: There are no toilets. Toilets are available at a WaWa about 1/2 mile from the site coming from I-95.
