HIKING Saturday Medium Hiking -- for 8 - 9 miles on 09/03/2022 @ 8:30am-1:00pm -- Join us on a hike that passes by elements we never get tired of seeing. You will pass by a āfreak of natureā that we think must be the entrance into the abyss. Along the route, there is an ever-watching tiny elf who bestows good luck on those who pass by, plus our favorite ruin, the hugging trees, interesting stream crossings and a walk-through elbow lane. This hike is on mostly wooded, shady trails and has one hill. Bring water and lunch. There is an early out at the lunch spot.
HIKING Saturday Long Hiking -- for 12-14 miles on 09/03/2022 @ 9:00am-2:00pm -- Well traveled trails; expect roots, rocks, hills and occasional minor stream crossings. Bring water, lunch, snack.
PADDLING Touring Paddling -- for miles on 09/03/2022 @ 9:30am-3:00pm -- Please email the leader (Russ Martyn, rbmwoodsmen@verizon.net) with any equipment needs to attend and include your cell number. Also, please review the newest Covid-19 policy: WTC Pandemic Safety ā Wilmington Trail Club. There is a shuttle.
HIKING Saturday Short Hiking -- for 3-5 miles on 09/03/2022 @ 10:00am-12:00pm -- Hike will start from Parking Lot 5. Ā Hike around Lums Pond, across meadow area, and in the adjacent woods in the cool shade. Some roots and rocks along these mostly flat and in some places partially paved trails. This is a loop hike. State parking fees in effect.
PADDLING Whitewater Paddling -- for miles on 09/03/2022 @ 10:00am-4:30pm -- This trip is open to anyone who has completed the WTC training or equivalent.Ā We will be meeting at the Weissport takeout,Ā 329 Franklin Street, Weissport PA at 10 am.Ā We will do a reverse shuttle ā ie load the boats, and drive up to Glen Onoko.Ā Plan to is paddle around in the Glen for ~20 min warm-up as the river rises.Ā This will be a leisurely trip.Ā Although not a training session, there will be experienced paddlers who can offer suggestions, review strokes, etc., and there will be many opportunities to practice catching eddies, ferrying, and some easy and fun surfing waves.Ā Please bring water, lunch, and sunscreen.Ā We typically go out for dinner after the trip, not mandatory but all welcome.
