HIKING Multi-day Backpacking -- for 8-9 miles on 05/14/2022 - 05/15/2022 @ All Day -- This two-day, one-night Delaware Water Gap Appalachian Trail backpacking trip is open to anyone and it is tailored to people who are interested in experiencing a comfortably-paced overnight trip. It is especially geared towards people who are new to backpacking. We will meet at the Appalachian Trail Parking lot  40°58’19.5″N 75°07’32.0″W – Google Maps, (GPS 40.97209483172941, -75.1257683902539) I-80, Columbia, NJ 07832 at 8:30 Saturday morning May 14 and start backpacking promptly at 9:00. Parking is limited. You should plan to arrive early. Day 1 we will hike about 3.7 miles to Sunfish Pond, circle Sunfish Pond (about 1 ½ miles), and then hike about another ½ mile to the camping area. HIKING Multi-day Backpacking -- for 17-19 miles on 05/14/2022 - 05/15/2022 @ 6:00am - 6:00pm -- This shuttle hike will cover about 18 miles from R. B. Winter State Park to Kalbfleisch Road. The first day we will hike about 10 miles climbing approximately 1875 feet. The second day we will hike approximately 8 miles with 1500 feet of climbing. Driving distance is approximately 163 miles from North Wilmington and takes about 3 hours and 15 minutes. I have reserved 2 campsites at R.B. Winter State Park for the night before but driving up on Saturday morning is also an option. I would like to begin the hike about 9:00. Please contact Robin for more information and to sign up.
PADDLING Touring Paddling Training Paddling -- for miles on 05/14/2022 @ 8:30am - 3:00pm -- Day 1 of Touring Training – Pre-registration is required and may be completed on the kayak training website – https://www.wtckayak.com/touring-training/
HIKING Saturday Medium Hiking -- for 9 miles on 05/14/2022 @ 9:00am - 1:00pm -- No pavement. The first half is on dirt roads. The second half is through little known trails. Fairly easy hiking: mostly level ​with​ no significant stream crossings, but some areas that can be muddy. Bring water and lunch to eat by a canal pond.
Saturday Long Hiking -- for 7-16 miles on 05/14/2022 @ 9:00am - 3:00pm -- Meet at the Nature Center Parking Lot. Â There will be a morning loop, about 7-9Â miles, and an afternoon loop, about 7-9 miles. Â Lunch will be eaten at the cars. Â Â The terrain is pretty flat; a few rocky spots, usually some mud (lots of mud after rain). Â Bring lunch, water, snack. Â
