WTC WTC Volunteer Opportunities (Recurring) -- for miles on 01/27/2022 @ 9:00am - 11:00am -- This project’s objective is to increase plant diversity and help preserve the native plants by removing non-native invasive plants. Wear long sleeves and pants, work gloves. Bring tools such as loppers, hand saws, pruners, shovels. All help is welcome and there is work for all levels: from pulling easy to remove honeysuckle vines, to sawing down linden viburnum. The walk to the worksite varies between 0.25 to 1.0 mile. HIKING Thursday Hiking -- for 4-5 miles on 01/27/2022 @ 10:00am - 12:15pm -- This mostly level hike on paved walks and boardwalk includes a short walk onto the Observation Hill Trail in the Peterson Refuge at the end of the boardwalk. This will be followed by a return to the Nature Center, then walking a loop northward after crossing the new Margaret Rose Henry Bridge to Tubman Garret Riverfront Park, and returning along the River Walk.
