Goal is to be comfortable with Class 2 water. Focus on basic strokes, boat control, reading Class 2 rapids, eddy entrance/exits, and ferrying. Improve or regain comfort level in Class 2 water.

The overall goal is to build confidence and have fun on class 2-3 water.
HIKING Saturday Long Hiking -- for 8-16 miles on 07/10/2021 @ 9:00am - 3:00pm -- Meet at the Mansion by 9:00 am. There will be a morning loop, and an afternoon loop. Afternoon loop will start around 12:15 from the mansion. Each loop will be ~8 miles. Bring water, snacks, bug spray, etc. These are well traveled trails with rocks, roots and an occasional minor stream crossing.
PADDLING Touring Paddling -- for miles on 07/10/2021 @ 10:00am - 3:00pm -- Due to popular demand, this course is offered again. Instruction is coordinated by Christina Older, Kalindi Dogra, Bob Strahorn, Wes Young and Louise Young. The course focuses on how to self-rescue and also assist in a rescue event while on Open Water. There is a $10 fee if you are not an ACA (American Canoe Association) member. Bring paddle floats, webbing slings, and other rescue gear if you have them. As always, bring water, sunscreen, and lunch. There will be a short afternoon paddle after the training. Please email the leader (Louise Young, ) to attend and include your cell number.
