HIKING Multiple Day Backpacking -- for 20-22 miles on 10/03/2020 - 10/04/2020 @ All Day -- This will be a loop route through this beautiful park in the Hudson Valley section of New York. On Saturday we’ll follow the Appalachian Trail through the park and camp adjacent to the William Brian shelter. On Sunday we’ll return to our vehicles following park trails. We’ll pass lakes, waterfalls, and vistas during the route. Plus, you’ll get to pass through the lemon squeezer. Elevation changes are relatively modest throughout the route. WTC WTC Volunteer Opportunities (Special) -- for 7 miles on 10/03/2020 @ 8:00am - 2:00pm -- Plan to meet us at Warwick County Park at 9:00 a.m. If we have enough volunteers, we will split into two teams. One team will drive to Harmonyville Road and we will check blazes and trim from PA route 345 south half way (lunch rock) to Warwick County Park and back, The second team will check blazes and trim from Warwick County Park north towards Harmonyille Road and back. Bring lunch, water, work gloves and clippers. Driving distance is about 35 miles from Wilmington. Restroom facilities may be closed. There will be no carpooling (unless riding with someone from the same household (or pod)) and no shuttle. Please maintain social distancing and wear a mask if you can’t.
HIKING Saturday Short Hiking -- for 4-5 miles on 10/03/2020 @ 8:30am - 10:30am -- This hike is limited to 10 people, including the leader, so 9 may RSVP starting September 27 via email to leader Karyn Derman. We will follow State of DE Covid 19 rules, maintain 6 feet apart social distance and/or wear face mask if social distance is not possible. If you sign up for and secure a spot on the hike and later find that you must cancel, please contact leader immediately so that someone else can take your place. PADDLING Touring Paddling -- for miles on 10/03/2020 @ 9:30am - 3:00pm -- This is a CORVID-19 compliant paddle. We will be maintaining social distancing when possible and wearing face masks as necessary. Please bring a face mask, hand sanitizer, and your own pen to sign the liability/release form. Please bring a lunch to eat in your boat. The paddle is limited to 10 people and you must RSVP the leader (Bob Strahorn) via email to attend. RSVPs will only be accepted 6 days prior to the day of the paddle (i.e. starting Sunday September 27). After 10 are signed up you will be placed on a waiting list. Any boat 12 ft. or longer is appropriate. There is no shuttle.
HIKING Saturday Medium Hiking -- for 7 - 8 miles on 10/03/2020 @ 10:00am - 1:30pm -- Meet at the front entrance by 10:00 a.m. for a 7-8 mile hike in the meadow, around the grounds, and in the conservatory. Masks are mandatory. First 8 people to sign up get in free. (Let leader know if you have a ticket.) There will be no lunch stop. It is recommended you bring water and snack. You must maintain a 6′ social distance and if not, you must were a mask. A mask must be with you, and it must be ready to be used. It is recommended you bring sanitizer and your own pen for signing the release. The leader will have sanitizer. According to Club current coronavirus rules only 10 hikers are permitted on each hike. RSVP is required on or after Sunday, September, ??, to Leader. After signing up for a hiking spot and you find you cannot make it, please, let the leader know ASAP so another hiker may take your place.
