WTC WTC Volunteer Opportunities (Special) -- for 7 miles on 06/06/2020 @ 8:00am - 2:00pm -- Today is National Trails Day! Due to COVID-19 protocol, this description has been modified. (5/4/2020) to eliminate carpooling (unless you are riding with a household member), maintain social distancing, wear a facemask if you can’t maintain social distancing, and note that the restroom facilities will be closed. Plan to meet us at Warwick County Park at 9:00 a.m. If we have enough volunteers, we will split into two teams. One team will drive to Harmonyville Road and we will paint blazes and clip from PA route 345 south half way (lunch rock) to Warwick County Park and back, The second team will paint blazes and clip from Warwick County Park north towards Harmonyille Road and back. Bring lunch, water, work gloves and clippers. Driving distance is about 35 miles from Wilmington. Restroom facilities will be closed.
HIKING Saturday Medium Hiking -- for 7-8 miles on 06/06/2020 @ 8:30am - 11:30am -- This is the 5th anniversary of the Tri-State Marker Trail dedication, held June 6, 2015. This makes 255 years since Mason and Dixon place the first marker (a wooden post) between PA and MD here. Yes, it is also 76 years since “D-day”. This hike is limited to 10 people. Please RSVP Gary Kirk by email or phone to receive your hiking slot. Bring your mask, sanitizer, water, on-the-go snack, and bug spray. Delaware park pass or payment is now required.
HIKING Saturday Short Hiking -- for 5 miles on 06/06/2020 @ 8:30am - 10:30am -- This hike is limited to 10 people, including the leader, so 9 may register to come on the hike. Please bring face mask and hand sanitizer and your own pen to sign in. We will hike up and back the James Redd Trail and around the Reservoir, but there is an early out option. Please call, text, or email the leader if you wish to come on this hike – it will b first-come, first- serve.
