HIKING New Member Hiking -- for 5 miles on 03/14/2020 @ 10:00am - 12:00pm -- Meet at the upper end of the main parking lot at Bellevue (fees in effect) and be ready to hike at 10:00 a.m. for a 5-mile adventure in Bellevue State Park and New Castle County’s Rockwood Park. We’ll circle Bellevue SP named for the mansion (a replica of Montpelier) that William Du Pont built there in 1928. After a short diversiuon to the Cauffiel Mansion (built in the 1920s), we’ll journey through Bringhurst Woods to experience Rockwood, the retirement estate of Wilmington native Joseph Shipley, dating from 1851. Although we return to Bellevue through Bringhurst, a different time and direction will reveal new vistas. Leaders will organize a lunch at a nearby casual restaurant if there is interest.
