Impromptu Cycling -- for 25-80 miles on 09/28/2019 @ All Day -- Hosted by the Brandywine Conservancy, Bike the Brandywine offers four loops that take in the beautiful Brandywine Creek Greenway and the surrounding countryside and river valley. Route distances of 25, 46, 62 (metric century) and 80 miles are offered, each with a unique and thrilling experience for both recreational and seasoned cyclists. Registration is open. HIKING Saturday Long Hiking -- for 15-17 hilly miles on rocky trails miles on 09/28/2019 @ 8:00am - 4:00pm -- Meet at the Brandywine Town Center by 8:00 a.m. for carpooling, or meet at the boat ramp by 9:00 a.m. Please let the leader know if you are going straight to the boat ramp; low attendance or poor weather may result in an alternate plan. Bring water, snacks, lunch, and bug spray (just in case). Driving distance about 40 miles.
HIKING Saturday Medium Hiking -- for 8 - 9 miles on 09/28/2019 @ 9:00am - 1:00pm -- Join me on a hike through woods and meadows and a few hills on the Mason Dixon trail and Auburn Valley Trail. Bring water and lunch. No restroom. Use these DIRECTIONS: From the intersection of DE-41 and Yorklyn Rd, Hockessin, proceed northeast on Yorklyn Rd for about 1.6 miles just a few yards past the Yorklyn Post Office, at 1149 Yorklyn Rd, DE. Turn left into the new parking lot just before the bridge to Creek Rd.
Touring Paddling -- for miles on 09/28/2019 @ 10:00am - 3:00pm -- Meet at 10:00 am to launch at 10:30 am. The paddle will be about 4 hours. There is no shuttle. PA boat launch permits are not necessary. Please respond by email if you plan to join us with your cell number and any equipment needs.
