WTC WTC Volunteer Opportunities (Recurring) -- for miles on 08/15/2019 @ 9:00am - 11:00am -- This project’s objective is to increase plant diversity and help preserve the native plants by removing non-native invasive plants. Wear long sleeves and pants, work gloves. Bring tools such as loppers, hand saws, pruners, shovels. All help is welcome and there is work for all levels: from pulling easy to remove honeysuckle vines, to sawing down linden viburnum. The walk to the worksite varies between 0.25 to 1.0 mile. Thursday Hiking -- for miles on 08/15/2019 @ 10:00am - 12:30pm -- Leaders: Kathy Tidball (C: 302/584-3777) and Eric Sallee (C: 609/306-2810). This is a 4-5 mile, paved hike through historic neighborhoods along and contingent to the important green spine of Bancroft Parkway. The hike will start at 10:00 a.m. from Kentmere Parkway in front of the Delaware Art Museum where restrooms are available. DRIVING DIRECTIONS: Access to on-street parking is by turning north off Pennsylvania Avenue (Rt. 52) onto North Bancroft Parkway. Proceed north to the far side of Kentmere Parkway (westbound) and turn left to park on either side of the Parkway near the Art Museum. The Museum address is 2301 Kentmere Pkwy, Wilmington DE 19806.
