Labor Day Holiday Hike – Monday September 3, White Clay Creek State Park (Carpenter Recreational Area). Leader: Ann Alves (302/383-3820; E: ). Meet in the parking lot at 10:30 a.m. for a 6-8 mile moderately-paced hike that will end in time to join the paddlers for a picnic at the pavilion. Trail will have some hills, rocks, tree roots and uneven dirt trails. DRIVING DIRECTIONS: Coming out of Newark on 896 N heading towards PA, go approximately 2 miles and the entrance to the parking lot will be on your right. A picnic following the paddle and hike will start at 1:00 p.m., at the pavilion, with concert at 3:00 p.m. by Leather & Lace – a Stevie Nicks Tribute band. Attendees should bring a chair or blanket for the concert and a dish to share at the picnic. Participants are welcome to contact Ann to set up the potluck food list so there will be an ample variety of food. Park fees are in effect. Note: in the case of inclement weather & park closure, an update via the WTC Forum will be posted.
