We’re very happy to answer any questions! Please click here to to find the most appropriate email contact?
For the security of members’ personal information and WTC content information, there was a WTC Council request to render the website’s info “uncopyable”. So, we only permit copying and printing as is specifically necessary. This request was a result of a member bulk copying other members’ names and contact information! It was not done with bad intention, but was not authorized and was a warning of a loophole. Receipts for items like membership renewal and event registration are sent from the website via email. Once on the user’s computer, they can save or print it.
Logically the larger your device is, the easier it is to view and navigate websites. However, this website is “responsive”, meaning it attempts to best fit to most devices. It also appears that newer devices are more responsive.
On a smart phone, you should expect to see 3 bars or dots near the top, click to expand access to all of the Menus and Site Search field. The menus include all of the information about the club. Please browse when you have time.
Also try turning your device landscape, rather than portrait.
The welcoming Home Page is the first full screen.
Then scroll down for the left sidebar shortcut items. These sidebar items contain the Login / Logout and several other helpful links.
Scroll down further for the right sidebar shortcut items, like Future Events section. The full sized and mini Calendars, Next list and Bulletin …can be quickly accessed from here.
Furthest down you’ll see Recent Forum Posts and Footer links.
This is an example:
Setting up calendar in browser to use the “Calendar Export” capability for Events
Each event has “Calendar Export” buttons on the event page. These buttons allow you to save the event date/time on your personal calendar.
• If you use Google Calendar, you should use the Google Calendar button
• If you use iCalendar, you should use the iCal link
• If you use Outlook or some other web based calendar, you should use the “webcal” link.
For Google Calendar:
If you use the Google Calendar, you just need to be signed into your Google (gmail) account in order for the event to be automatically added when you click on the button.
If you are not signed into your Google account and you use the GoogleCalendar button, you will be directed to the Google sign-in page to sign into your account.
For Outlook (DesktopApplication and Web Application) and other Web-based Calendars: For the first time setup
• Click on the “webcal” link from the Event page
• A dialog box will open asking you “Open Pick an app?”
• Click on the “Open Pick an app” button (and check the “Always open…. “).
• Choose your desired App from the list
- Go to wilmingtontrailclub.org and login; you must be logged in to be able to see the bulletin.
- Just above the calendar on the upper right hand corner of the home page, click the blue letters that say, “Bulletin.”
- In the upper right hand corner, click the gray box that says, “Print This Post.”
- Then you can use your printer’s settings to make it 2-sided, or print only selected pages if you wish.
- At the moment, it’s 21 pages long, maybe 50% longer than the previous Bulletin. The reason it’s that long is that it includes all WTC categories of events – hiking, paddling, cycling, skiing, etc. Also, everything that has been input on the calendar from the current day and forward is included.
- Go to wilmingtontrailclub.org and login; you must be logged in to be able to see club documents.
- On the main horizontal menu, hover over OVERALL then click on DOCUMENTS. All of the club RELEASES are listed there.
- There’s also a shortcut link in the left sidebar.
- In the RELEASES list, click on the one you want, it will open in your browser.
- To print, use your browser’s print menu.
1. Prospective Event Leaders should contact the appropriate Event Coordinator, regarding events that they would like to lead. Also see Hiking Write-up Elements and Event Process Instructions.
2. Login to the website at: https://wilmingtontrailclub.org/.
3. Go to LEFT BOTTOM FOOTER > Event Management > Event Add or Edit.
4. Enter the “Event Name”, where it says “Title”. This might include something related to the trail &/or something interesting like, “Spring Flower”, “Turkey Hike”, etc.
5. Choose 1 major & 1 sub “Event Category”. An example: “HIKING” & “Wednesday Midweek”.
6. Click into the “When / From” & “When / To” fields & choose the “Dates” from the calendar.
7. Click into the “When / Event Start” & “Event To” fields & choose the “Times” from the list.
8. Change the “Author” field from your name to the “Leader’s Name”. Although you don’t see it, their contact info will appear in the frontend view, to users who are logged on. If the leader is not on the list yet, change the name to “_Leader To Be Determined”. Temporarily add the “Leader’s Name”, email address, & phone number into the “Text” field (see 13 below). And notify “wtcwebmaster1@gmail.com, who will attempt to correct.
9. Fill in Mileage Range (or mileage if not a range). Such as 8-10 or 9.
10. Leader 2: If there is a second leader, enter that person’s “Name” & “Phone Number”.
11. Skip over “Actual Mileage” as this for later use.
12. “Event Cancelled”: Leave at “No” unless there is a cancellation. Be sure to send a “Forum Alert Notice” too!
13. “Where / Location”: Choose your starting location from the pull-down list. If you can’t find the “Location”, go to the “HOME” page & use the Overall / Locations / Search page. If you still don’t find it, please choose “_Location To Be Determined”. Temporarily add the exact address into the “Text” field (see 13 below). And notify “wtcwebmaster1@gmail.com, who will attempt to correct.
14. Event Detail”: Finally, in the large blank text box near the top of the entry form, type anything special about the hike. It should be things like: bring water & lunch; difficulty: like stream crossings, hills, etc.; & special scenery (see Hiking Write-Up Elements).; carpool details & their directions, etc. Unlike the current practice, do not include any information that is already been identified by the previous steps! This includes info like directions to the hike, length of the hike, parking fees, etc …because this will duplicate information.
15. Click “Preview” to see how it looks. Close the “Preview” window. Click “Save Draft”, if you like it, but don’t want it to be viewed by others yet. Click “Publish” to save & post for others to see.
16. Look in one of the event calendars, to see if your event is posted properly. If you don’t see it, incorrect or incomplete data entry is probably the cause. Check dates and event category first.
17. At any time, if you want to edit it: go back into the event & click EDIT. It can be found just above EVENT DETAIL.
18. If you start to enter an event but are unable to complete it for any reason, please check the link to “Manage Events: Drafts” before starting over.
19. Thank you for volunteering!

Thank you for being a WTC Club member! We are approaching the renewal date of most members. The basic renewal steps are: login, check your renewal status, choose a payment method, renew. Here are the details:
1. Go to the WTC Club website: https://wilmingtontrailclub.org/
2. You must log in to the website! If you have trouble doing this, please go to Login Steps before you try several times. (Personal login assistance is also available by clicking on the gray envelope in the lower right-hand side of the website).
3. After you have logged in, click on the white “ACCOUNT” link near the top center of the screen. This will take you to your basic “Profile and Membership” info. (There are links from there to update your info if you wish).
4. Most importantly, if your “Membership Expires” date is nearing and you wish to renew, please proceed to ONE of the TWO next steps.
5. Renew Online: click on the blue link “renew online” to pay with PayPal or Credit Card.
OR
6. Renew Offline: by sending the renewing member’s name and a check for $18 to:
WTC Membership Manager
c/o Jeanne-Marie Yohe
2717 Landon Dr
Wilmington, DE 19810
(The paper form is optional if you have had information changes and do not wish to enter them yourself.)
- The goal of this process is for existing club members to renew their membership. DO NOT re-register. You will be finding your account and simply adding another payment order, not creating a new account. If you get a message that your username or email address already exists, this is a very good clue that you are not proceeding correctly.
- All payments must be received before the expires date or your account will automatically expire.
- Each individual must supply a unique email address and renew their own account annually for $18.
- Please contact the Membership Manager if you’re unsure about this.
