Summer Pool Sessions

$5.00 a session - Regardless of Y Member Status

Time: 7:00pm to 10:00pm

Location: Western Family YMCA, Outdoor Pool

ACA Insurance: $5.00 per month or ACA membership number.

            NOTE: Number must be given each session.

Half Pool: Strokes & Rolling Practice

Half Pool: Kayak Polo Games - Games will be two ten minute halfs, 3 on 3 games.

Winter Pool Sessions

I am happy to announce that the relationship between the YMCA and the Wilmington Trail Club starts its fourth year. New this year the cost for a WTC member is $10.00 reduced by $5.00 and the session is one hour longer. Beginning Sunday November 8, 2009 we will start weekly Pool Sessions. They will run Sundays through April 2010.  This will provide us with a warm area to practice our rolling, teach new people how to roll, and provide a great social venue for paddlers during the winter months.

Times
The pool sessions are every Sunday, and start at 7 am. Since this particular YMCA doesn't open until 10am on Sundays, this gives us two hours and a half of uninterrupted pool access.  You will only be able to get into the building between 7:00 and 8:00. After that, the doors will be locked. We have to have our boats out of the water at 9:40 and out of the building by 10. Also, since the Y is not open during the sessions, payment must be made in CASH to the WTC representative supervising the session that day.

Location
The Western Family Y is located at 2600 Kirkwood Highway, Newark, DE 19711.  Access to the pool sessions will be through an outside entrance located on the right side of the building. There will be plenty of directional signs in the parking lot.

Pool Session Fees
Just like last year, there will be fees for the pool sessions this year.  They are based on our insurance coverage as well as facility fees. The pool session fees are strictly to cover costs, and the WTC does not profit from them.   These fees are per pool session, and there are 25 scheduled sessions at the YMCA this winter.

ACA Membership
ACA Membership costs $ 40 for an individual membership. This pays for itself in 8 pool sessions.  [ACA Website]

Full YMCA membership is $ 52 monthly +/-. Individual Program Membership costs $ 55 for 1 year. Program Membership pays for itself in 11 pool sessions. [YMCA Website]
