Description:

Susquehanna State Park, MD.  This is an 8-9 mile hike to enjoy the spring wildflowers and bluebells along the Susquehanna River.  DRIVING DIRECTIONS:  For carpooling, arrive ready to leave at 7:50 a.m. from the Hockessin Memorial Hall parking lot (Rt. 41 and Yorklyn Road).  Or be ready to hike at 9:00 a.m. from the Deer Creek picnic area in Susquehanna State Park. Take Rt. 41 to Avondale, PA, then Rt. South to the first left soon after crossing the Conowingo Dam onto Shursville Road. Go 1.8 miles; then left onto Stafford Road (facing a big tree). Stay on Stafford Road for 3.8 miles to the Historic Area (past the Deer Park Picnic Area) and park on the left. (33 miles total.)  There is no parking fee at the Historic Area.  Bring lunch and water. The Park address is 4122 Wilkinson Road, Havre de Grace, MD21078. Phone: 410-557-7994.
