Level was pretty low. There were some rocks I had never seen before. The play spots were decent enough for a lazy Sunday paddle. This was the first time down the Lower Muddy for Shannon. She did a great job! Her first attempt at Snap falls was somewhat unsuccessful. After going over the drop, she went over (holding her nose instead of her paddle). But immediately tapped for a bow rescue. Lucky for her Nathan "Spiderman" Kutz was out of his boat on a rock. He quickly jumped to her rescue with a "hand of god". He got her upright, but she qickly went over again because of the force of the recirc. Nathan again flipped her back over, this time Shannon HUGGED Nathan for dear life, and all was well. Shannon immediately hiked back to the top of the falls and did a flawless run.....WOO HOO Shannon!! Great job Nathan! We scraped our way down playing where we could, had a quick lunch at the Gorge. There was a log jammed into the rock river right at S turn, Rick and Bob removed it. Somewhere near the last rapid, it started to rain. Had about 15-20 min rain/hail/lightning dely on the beach river right under the big cliff. Hit the flat water, had some beverages (no snacks cause Dave Sibley was not there). Then had dinner at the Lafayette. They really love tables of 8 walking in and asking for separate checks!
